We take a larger deposit to protect the owner from losing their goods should they not be returned. The customer (the hirer) is charged for the number of days hire at the rate set by the owner (the renter). Deposits are refunded each Friday after the return of an item, less the number of hire days and a transaction fee of 5%.
To protect both parties from fraud we use a code exchange verification system. Each party of the hire/lease is provided with 2 parts of a unique code which when combined creates a verification code that we use to ensure that an item has been properly collected and returned at the end of the hire period. This verification code is essential to unlocking funds, whether the hirer’s deposit or the renter’s earnings from the hire.
If you pay a deposit and don’t take an item at the collection and no codes are exchanged you will be refunded your deposit less 5%, we will see codes were not exchanged and you did not take the item.
If you exchange codes and take the hire no refund will be available as you have accepted the hire.
You’re advised to return the hire as soon as possible to reduce your higher charge.
